Originated from Indochina Medical School, which was established in 1902, Hanoi University of Pharmacy is regarded as one of the oldest universities in Vietnam.

In 1941, the Experimental School of Medicine and Pharmacy was renamed to the Indochina Medical and Pharmaceutical University. After August revolution (that followed by the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam) in 1945, it was renamed to Vietnam University of Medicine and Pharmacy. In 1961, with the increase in the demand of medical and pharmaceutical human resources, the Ministry of Health decided to split Vietnam University of Medicine and Pharmacy into two separate colleges including Hanoi College of Medicine and Hanoi College of Pharmacy. In 1985, due to substantial growth, Hanoi College of Pharmacy was renamed to Hanoi University of Pharmacy as it is today.

In the last 61 years of development, the University has confirmed its important position and pretige in the cause of pharmaceutical staff in health sector and is the trustworthy training address of Education and Training Ministry.

The University of Illinois Chicago traces its origins to several private health colleges that were founded in Chicago during the 19th century.

In the 20th century, new campuses were built in Chicago and later joined together to form a comprehensive learning community. In the last three decades, UIC has transformed itself into one of the top 65 research universities in the United States.

Mahidol University has its origins in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888 by His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), and the hospital’s medical school is the oldest institution of higher learning in Thailand, granting its first medical degree in 1893. Later becoming the University of Medical Sciences in 1943, Mahidol University was renamed with great honor in 1969 by H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej , after his Royal Father, H.R.H Prince Mahidol of Songkla , who is widely known as the ‘Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health in Thailand‘. Mahidol University has since developed into one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand, internationally known and recognized for the high caliber of research and teaching by its faculty, and its outstanding achievements in teaching, research, international academic collaboration and professional services. Established in 1960, over the past half-century, TMU was able to grow under challenging circumstances without regular official budget from the government or funding from foundations.
